LONG TIME CRUSH

Am I hypnotized?
I can’t take my eyes off you
A beautiful creation perfected…the product—YOU!
Oblivious to my ever watchful stares
You went on your way
Striding…gliding with that very sexy sway.
My moment froze when you first looked straight into my eye
Pulse raising, palm sweating, I waited for your smile
I held on to that gaze, and melted away when you said “hi!”
Even in my dream I see those thick lashed eyes
Full, inviting lips and a bod so nice
Even those hands, almost perfect…I’m not really surprised.
An architect, they say you are
Great at playing billiards, what I’ve seen so far
If only I can go back to college days to finally let happen my dreams of you and me, as par!
Yes it’s been 13 long years since I last saw you
But to this day I remember you
The beautiful you that makes me long for atleast someone like you…if not you.
this one here is a li'l bit of a revelation of the romantic side of me=) for my A____ who have been my long time crush...wonder where he is now.
this is actually a re-post from my
life 'round meNyou which is an intro to my next post MR. RIGHT. visit back for it, okay?

ADOPTION

I was watching my ever favorite comedy show “Friends” yesterday, and I was in that scene where husband and wife, Monica and Chandler, were with the social worker who will decide whether they are capable of raising a kid or not. As always, the scene is hilarious with Joey with them…but it touches also a sensitive core especially in a mother like me.

It’s a sensitive issue for me even just to think that the baby will be raised by some other people other that her mom. It’s so heartbreaking…well, actually I became so very sensitive when it comes to kids when I gave birth to my very own 4 years ago. BUT on the other side, it also is heartwarming to believe that without parents needing to go into Adoption, those kids will have no one except those working in those institutions caring for them.

Though, this “Adoption” is a commitment and a responsibility that had to be thought of a thousand times before pushing through; because there is no turning back! It’s basically having a child JUST without the first phase of carrying for 9 months. There should be no difference…because in both ways, the couple will be given a blessing, a child to love and to care for until the day they die. It will be the proof of their love for each other, because they will each be doing this to make the other be happier, and in the end making the 3 of them the happiest.

SO SORRY

It had been days since I last stayed more than 5 minutes in front of my PC, more so, my blogging. I apologize for not being able to go back to all my friends dropping by right away…but I promise to try and say hello.

I had those terrible attack of headaches that goes with my monthly flux…pressure, eyestrain, hunger, or any contributing factor triggers it more easily at this period and so I try to go easy than pop up time and again the only pill that works against it, mefenamic acid 500mg SF (Super Fast acting, but takes really half an hour on me). Grrr…maybe I can go have my head exchanged for another. Who wants it? (haha)

And so please bear with me as I try to catch up with those missed days…

GIFT FOR HONEY...

“It’s my last day….tomorrow’s his big day, and I still don’t know what to give him!”

A common dilemma wives and fiancé’s have when there’s a need to look for a present for an anniversary, birthday, holiday, congratulations…or whatever occasion that needs gift giving. Yes, there’s the “what he likes” and “what he needs”…but after so many years and occasions that have passed you by…it seems that you’re suddenly at a loss for what else there is to give. Sometimes, just with the cramming, your mind gets TOTALLY BLANK!

Either you go window shopping if you have the time or just pick out anything for the sake of having one. That just sucks! Because put yourself in his shoes and you wouldn’t want to get another organizer which he have given you on your last birthday, or a third-time-around set of manicure sets…or a tiny little elephant that you will put behind that glass shelf amongst a hundred others just so you wouldn’t hurt his feelings if you give them all away.

It’s not that you do not appreciate the gift nor do you expect your gift not to be appreciated, but you wanted to give him THE BEST AMONG THE REST. We need
CHOICES. And how fortunate it is that these choices we’re just a click away in this millennium. So we do not have an excuse as to NOT KNOWING, or that WE DON’T HAVE THE TIME…what’s a few minutes worth?! You put a lot of those minutes doing your hair and make-up everyday. A special occasion for a special person needs special attention!

Just remember to chose what the receiver will love you more for…and what you can continue to love him for though not his day anymore!!! (PSP’s definitely is worth a second thought if you don’t want being ignored in exchange for those addictive games, get what I mean?!)

I wish I could share with you more of my cousin Angelo's magic...to make you fall inlove more with the soothing sounds of his music. I am yet trying to figure out what amongst his original compositions will I use as a background to this blog...but for now shares with you his rendition of this theme song from the 80's movie Ice Castle that I loved so much...LOOKING THROUGH THE EYES OF LOVE, then sang by Melissa Manchester.

WEDDING BLISS

Is it the love month or what? Well…it’s such a nice feeling that I wouldn’t want to wait for any other day but today to be in love!

Just as I was this morning when I turned on the television and saw this I-cannot-recall-what-title movie that is actually almost over, but still had a heart warming effect on me. Though the wedding ceremony the characters partook near the end is not exactly my type, in a carnival setting, it’s the words that struck a cord. That though the ceremony is not perfect, what is important is that the couple was there loving each other and they had the courage to say “I do!”

Life is so full of surprises, you never know if your dream wedding will still be your dream wedding when that time finally comes. And it’s every woman’s fantasy to have one of her own. I do, too…after all I’m a woman!

And at a time like this, when I am a little more sappy than usual, I browse around for other people’s weddings. Sometime’s going through bridal gowns in the net or even in magazines. Look at get away destinations, bride bouquets, wedding cakes,… photos with differing preferences. I am fortunate to have friends in that line. One of which is
Ronald who help couples in relieving their most important day by offering complete footage of the event, have memorable photos of the preparation…and everything else that would keep the love going as you view them over again in the years to come. Dhan-Ronald digital photography & videography will cater to all your prefered momentos of your MEMORY TO KEEP.

I wonder how I would like my wedding to be by that time…what do you like? Or what was your’s like? I’d love to hear your wedding this and that, share it with me?

BER MONTH FOR COUPLES

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

If in my previous post, BER centered on Singles…now it’s for the couples.

This BER-months can be very romantic depending on individual plans. But just the climate in itself can bring two people as close to each other as possible seeking warmth, or “pretending” to seek warmth ;)

Remember though that it should not only be during these months!!! And that IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO! I am then here calling the attention of those that believes that it is their partner’s thing to do, or that they should go first. Both of you will benefit, so why wait around when it MAY not happen with all the waiting?!

Plan NOW. And put the wheel in motion!

BER MONTH FOR SINGLES

The commonly uttered Filipino phrase “Samahan ng Malalamig ang Christmas”(SMC) came to mind the moment this BER-month was noticed. It may be translated as “a group having cold Christmases”.

This is actually supposed to be a widespread joke around groups belonging to the unmarried people or what we call “singles”. Since Christmas time, we all tend to cuddle due to the warm Christmassy feeling, being very sentimental and loving during this season plus the very mere fact that when it’s Christmas time, it is indeed cold! And so, by September, the very first BER-month, almost all individual classified as “single” would be wishing upon the first star for someone special, or if not, be reminded of the fact that come Christmas it’s going to be one cold Christmas Day. And that soon, someone will voice it out loud.

Admit it or not, I’m pretty sure that one way or the other, you Singles out their have the same line of thought if not directly the same…right?

LOVER'S CAN NEVER BE FRIENDS

WRONG! You can! I can, in fact I did!

TIME is the essence. You can’t hurry the process, because healing and moving on takes time. You can look back at your past as a learning endeavor. You can both reminisce and mess about it. Can even lightly recount the positive and negative outcomes of previous reactions, approach, behavior or feelings. This can be another advantageous sport to life’s tribulation.

But with this comes open-mindedness, sensibility,… even humor to fate. And believe me, it’s rewarding! The friendship that will come of it is something to treasure. Because you’ve been more than friends with them before, and you both know each other more than any common friend does. You’ve been through rough times…and being friends now meant you survived it!

WONDER WHY COUPLES LOOK ALIKE?

I did, a lot of time.

My Mom and Dad. Granny and Gramps. Aunt and Uncle.

But when the question was raised,
"we're meant to be together" is the common retort.

I believed it UNTIL my cousin Tammy in Stanford University

shared from me something she have learned
from a known psychologist there that the most probable reason
is because of the years they have spent together,

they have unconsciously mimicked each others
facial expressions making them almost look-alikes already.

What I don't believe is his idea of food being another factor. Inconclusive.

STAY TOGETHER

In every relationship...there comes the "how-can-I-make-it-last-question". And we very well know that in this age, divorces, annulments and separations are getting to be a "craze" not just in the entertainment world but even in the commoners. If decades ago, it is only in the western side of the globe, now even in Asia (in my country even, the Philippines)...it's widely recognized.

BUT it's not a hopeless case!

We can still try..because I believe that every couple is unique. That if there is LOVE, there is a chance. We can seek advices, read through books...not when it's already too late. Even at the start we can do that. Just as I did this Mr. Ben White’s book, “The 100 Ways To Stay Together”. Some of his advices that I recall:

*Don’t fight to win, fight to tie
*If it’s serious to your partner, take it seriously
*If you don’t want to talk about it, it’s the first thing you should talk about
*Be extravagant with your encouragement
*Make love first, next comes your chores

THINK POSITIVE! It can indeed work=)
The road gladdens the obsessed ghost.

PUPPY LOVE

Thinking back of our childhood follies almost always make us smile. There’s the awkward changes and development we go through during adolescence or puberty; those unforgettable firsts that we try along with our peers; and of course, the transition of our definition of LOVE and RELATIONSHIP.

Funny it may seem, but mine started during kindergarten. My very first notice of the opposite sex and of the natural feeling of attraction though undefined yet in those years. I can even remember that li’l boy and how he helped me with my copying the take home assignment, though not his name anymore. As the years went on, crushes came and go. The so called “puppy love” during elementary; the suitors; the very first boyfriend that actually was only allowed for the sake of having one; the first real boyfriend; the first kiss; the flings….

Each and every one of them had their significant effects and left a memory to keep. Each relationship teaches us something. May it be understanding ourselves, dealing with people around us,…or simply about life. And so I believe them to be immensely affecting and as equally important as any other major event in our lives.

Don’t you think so?
